Sarah Lennon, Executive Director of Sage Advocacy, joined Kerry Today with Jerry O'Sullivan, to discuss what the latest HPSC guidance may mean for nursing home residents and their families.

Ms Lennon said the latest guidelines include a new requirement for prospective visitors to a nursing home to provide proof of immunity through vaccination or prior infection.

Ms Lennon said it also important that nursing home providers adhere to all the updated HPSC guidelines - particularly in relation to the requirement for exemptions on compassionate grounds regarding proof of immunity.

Sage Advocacy has urged nursing home providers - in line with current public health guidance - to ensure that nursing home residents have “meaningful contact”  with the people who are important to them.
