Sage Advocacy's Executive Director, Sarah Lennon, joins LMFM's Michael Reade show to discuss why the continued closure of adult day centres is impacting on individuals and families across the country.

Ms Lennon said the people who use the day centres and their families want the Government to deliver a road map for the re-opening of the centres which provide vital services in their communities.

Ms Lennon said:" The centres have been closed since March 2020 and a lot of our older people have been looking at everything re-opening in front of them and hearing a drip feed of information about what is coming next but there has been radio silence on the re-opening of day centres.

"Adult day centres are so important, people are keen and in some instances desperate to get back to the centres. For some older people who may have specific support needs the day centres play a hugely important role in enabling people to continue living in their own homes and in their own communities because they provide access to services and support".
