Listen back here to Sarah Lennon, Executive Director, Sage Advocacy, discuss why residents in some congregated settings were not included in the initial vaccination rollout on RTE's Drivetime.

Ms Lennon said that Sage Advocacy was told by the HSE and the Department of Health that the objective of the vaccine allocation schedule was "the preservation of life first" and that was the key reason why nursing homes were a priority to receive the vaccination.

But Ms Lennon said that nurse-led units were given number one priority in the vaccination schedule.
