Dublin SE/Wicklow & Cork City/East Cork
The right to have your voice heard and to participate in making decisions which affect you is a fundamental principle in a democratic society. It is a principle simply stated as “Nothing about you /without you”.
In circumstances where people may be vulnerable, or have to depend on others, there is a need to ensure that their rights, freedoms and dignity are promoted, protected and defended. Through support and advocacy the will and preference of a person can be heard and acted on; independently of family, service provider or systems interests.
Sage is a support and advocacy service for vulnerable adults and older people. We are currently recruiting Regional Coordinators for Dublin SE/Wicklow and for Cork City / East Cork to join a core group of 16 staff and over 200 volunteers.
The primary purpose of the Regional Coordinator is to grow awareness of Sage and its services at regional level, to lead on complex advocacy cases supported by case management, safeguarding and legal skills, and to ensure effective local management of Sage services.
This appointment is for an initial period of 12 months and is subject to availability of funding. The salary is €45,000 per year and there are 25 days annual leave.
