RECRUITMENT OF REGIONAL ADVOCATES
Sage Advocacy is the National Advocacy Service for Older People. It also supports vulnerable adults and healthcare patients in CERTAIN situations where no other service is able to assist.
Sage provided information, support and advocacy services to almost 5,000 people in 2022 and our work on behalf of clients is independent of family, service provider or systems interests. Our team of experienced advocates is available across the Republic of Ireland and our service is free of charge and confidential. Sage Advocacy ensures that a person's voice is heard, that their wishes are taken into account and that they are assisted, in whatever ways necessary, to be involved in decisions that affect them. Our work is guided by Quality Standards for Support & Advocacy Work With Older People, a Case Management Group and a Policy & Practice Committee. Sage Advocacy is also an important source of support for a range of stakeholders with regard to the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Acts.
To prepare for the next phase of development of the organisation’s services in the context of legislative changes and the emergence of Regional Health Authorities, as proposed by Sláintecare, Sage Advocacy is seeking expressions of interest for Regional Advocates for the following areas:
Dublin (1)
Midlands (1)
This appointment is for an initial contract period of 12 months and thereafter is subject to the continued availability of funding. A probation period of six months will apply during which time there will be three reviews. Salary scales are currently being reviewed but the following is indicative: €45,000 - €55,000. Entry will be at the minimum of the scale. Progression will be based on experience and performance. There are 25 days annual leave and a 5% contribution to a PRSA scheme following satisfactory completion of probation. This post will primarily be home based and will involve a considerable level of travel within your region in line with the requirements of the organisation. Travel and subsistence costs are reimbursed in line with current guidelines.

Call for Expression of Interest – Legal Services
Sage Advocacy, since it was established in 2014, has become a leading provider of support and independent advocacy services to almost 5,000 people a year. Our work is generally focused on the issues affecting individual clients and we are guided by their wishes, where these can be established. We also have a strong focus on the systemic issues which arise from individual and collective casework and have a strong record in the publication of policy and discussion documents following on the initial publication of Quality Standards for Support & Advocacy Work with Older People.
Sage Advocacy is now calling for Expressions of Interest for the provision of legal services. The legal firm should have experience in the following areas. Please note the list is indicative only.
- Charity Law
- Data Protection
- Employment Law
- Corporate Governance & Compliance
- Commercial Property
- Procurement & Tendering
- Regulatory & Administrative Law
In addition to responding to the above criteria respondents to this Call for Expressions of Interest should provide the following:
- Full names, addresses and contact details.
- Detailed individual or corporate CV setting out all relevant work and publications with embedded links to the documents / resources where possible or attachments where necessary.
- An indication of daily rates and special rates which might apply for extensive pieces or periods of work and related expense charges and of any willingness to provide an element of services pro bono.
- Any other information which is felt to be relevant. This may include reviews, commentary or media coverage of relevant work.
